The North Side High School Alumni Association is proud to announce Veronica Montoya and Rebecca Campbell Caldwell as co-Grand Marshals of the 2026 North High Homecoming Parade! Veronica and Rebecca are celebrating 40 years as Viking alumni, having graduated together with the Class of 1986 - North High's 100th graduating class.
Veronica and Rebecca's friendship goes all the way back to freshman year English class, where they discovered they were both wearing the exact same pair of very unique shoes on the very same day. It was, as they'll tell you, a match made in heaven - and the start of a tight bond that's lasted over four decades. This pair has had a LOT of fun over the years and remained close through good times and bad.
Both women remain proud North Denver residents and extremely engaged community members to this day. Veronica has over 30 years experience in the Denver commercial and residential real estate market as an Independent Broker and Real Estate Consultant. She currently serves on the board of Denver Community Health Services and the QALICB Boards for the Denver Health Outpatient Medical Center and The Sam Sandos Westside Health Clinic.
After a career in software and consulting marketing, Rebecca has spent the last 15 years giving back to the schools that shaped her, working in Marketing and Communications at Skinner Middle School since 2011 and at North High since 2014. She's thrilled to have helped both schools double their enrollment along the way. She's also a proud North High parent, with two second-generation Vikings of her own from the classes of 2022 (Lucy) and 2025 (Dane). Dane was the valedictorian of the Class of 2025 and he gave a great shout out to both women and the Class of '86 in his graduation speech.
Veronica and Rebecca are deeply honored to receive this honor and are excited to be a part of the 2026 Homecoming Parade! Come on out and watch the Parade - Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 5:15 pm. Highland Park is the best viewing location, bring a chair!
