North Staff are committed to providing students with high quality learning opportunities through the summer months. The goal is to guide students’ academic engagement in June, July, and August by identifying and providing relevant, rigorous, course-aligned learning opportunities for students at each grade level. These learning experiences are purposefully designed by North teachers so students and families can be confident that learning students are engaging in over the summer benefits their ongoing preparation for the Fall semester.
It is highly recommended that all students engage in Summer Learning Opportunities for each of their upcoming courses. Students’ engagement and completion of Summer Learning Opportunities can only benefit them by increasing their preparedness for the Fall. Students who are unable to complete these learning experiences will not be penalized, as we also acknowledge that students’ and families’ experiences during the summer months vary widely. Summer Learning Opportunities will not impact students’ grades and will not be collected / reviewed during class time, however teachers may provide time outside of class for students to review their learning or receive feedback. This will be at the discretion of the teacher.
