8th Grade Families – Get To Know North!

Hello 8th Grade Families,

You have a very important decision to make in the next few weeks, which high school will you choose for your 8th grader? North High is an absolutely outstanding choice and we invite you to learn more about our diverse and exciting community of Vikings and why North is the right choice for your family.

North High 2023-2024 Highlights:

• 1,540 students in 2023-2024.
• For the fourth year in a row, North High School achieved the third highest graduation rate in DPS among all comprehensive high schools with a 4 year, on time graduation rate of 93.6%. North’s graduation rate was exceeded only by East and Northfield High Schools. The class of 2023 earned over $12M in scholarships.
• 31 AP courses and Concurrent Enrollment college classes taught on campus, enabling students to earn college credit while at North.
• 24 CHSAA and 2 club sports are offered at North and North scholar athletes have an average 3.2 GPA.
• Multiple League Championships over the past two school years including Boys Soccer, Cheer, Baseball, Rugby, Girls Golf, Wrestling and JROTC.
• North’s Alumni Association Scholarship Foundation has an endowment of over $1.7 million and awards over 40 scholarships to graduating seniors.

North High Prospective Family Information Night:

• Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 6:30 – 8 pm

Attending a Prospective Family Information Night is a great way to learn all about why North is the right high school choice for your student. Families will have an opportunity to meet Principal German Echevarría and other members of our admin team, teachers, and current students and parents. School tours will also be offered. All prospective families are encouraged to attend. No RSVP necessary. We look forward to meeting you!

North High Daytime Tours/Classroom Visit Experiences: North offers daytime school tours including a classroom visit experience (for students) for prospective Viking families. Tours are available from November – February most Mondays at 1:30 pm and Tuesdays at 9:30 am. Click here to sign up for a tour.

DPS SchoolChoice Information: The DPS SchoolChoice Round 1 enrollment window for the 2024-25 school year opens at 10 a.m. on Jan. 11 and runs through Feb. 12, 2024 at 4 p.m. North usually has a waitlist each year, so we encourage our future families to complete the Round 1 form.
